Moving From Colleague To Supervisor
Moving From Colleague To Supervisor 1. Managers can use the wrong type of leadership because each team must use the appropriate strategy for management and leadership, which will create the most favorable conditions of the collective work. I think that in this situation the companies have poor socio-psychological climate. So, the relations with colleges and socio-psychological factors are the most important for the selecting of leadership style. However, exactly this area of management, which is linked to managers relationship with his subordinates, plays a key position in terms of the success of the head as a whole. No matter how talented and hard-working boss is, but if his efforts are not supported by his subordinates a result is unlikely to be particularly successful. It is evident that each manager chooses the style that best suits him for a specific company, and under his personality type. But here are some important tips that can be taken into account: the leader must understand that the company as a single organism. It lives according to certain laws both the general business laws, as well as their own, which exist only inside the company. It is therefore important to feel the unity of the company, and in accordance with this pick a style guide, which will be the most harmonious. In our case of Chery Kahn, Rob Carstons, and Linda McGee, who were promoted into management positions , the leaders must take into account the psychology of people who work with the leaders and remember that first of all people do the business! Any new leader faces with the question: what kind of management style to choose? There are different types of management: soft, hard, democratic or totalitarian. It is vitally important for the manager to choose the appropriate method of leadership in the particular company, taking into consideration the specific of the company and its team of employees. If the manager can not choose the style of company management, it means that he does not possess the necessary knowledge in the field of managing people. Such a person may be the best employee, but does not know the psychology of management and psychology of team leadership. Then the person can not become a member of the team and become its leader. In such a case a person must pass training on the management of company and personal effectiveness. Some assistance can provide the model F. Fiedler, that help to choose the management style. There are different leaders: the head who is task oriented, and the head who is focused on interpersonal relations. Using special tools installed, future manager can decide what type of leader he belongs to. This and other training and techniques can help to select the desired style of management, and follow it. (Bennis, W 1998) 3. Leadership is an art, it requires professionalism, intelligence and specific skills. There are such types as authoritarian style, democratic, passive and individualized. It is clear that each manager chooses the style that best suits him for a specific company, and under your personality type. But here are some important tips that can be taken into account: The leader must understand that the company is as a single organism, it lives according to certain laws both the general business laws, as well as their own, which exist only inside the company. It is therefore important to feel the unity of the company, and in accordance with this pick a style guide, which will be the most harmonious. It is important to remember that nothing stands still, everything is moving and changing. The head also should not stand still, he should grow up, get additional education, constantly learn new things and innovate in the company. Then it will keep pace with rapidly changing times and avoid stagnation. Therefore, the selected style guide should take into account the need for changes in the company. Consider the psychology of people who work with the leader. Remember that business is people first, and only then technology. Therefore, for any manager its important to pick a team that everyone was not only in its place, but also successfully coped with their responsibilities and was able to more effectively reach their potential, because it depends on the success of the company. (Tittemore 2003) So, I must conclude that when selecting the style of leadership, future leaders must take into account the psychological features of the team. Ã In the companies where work Chery Kahn, Rob Carstons, and Linda McGee there is some conspiracy, when people are polite, but there is no sincere relationship, people hide their views. In such a team leader Chery Kahn, Rob Carstons, and Linda McGee does not know how to resolve conflicts, reach consensus not developed loyalty to the staff team and the manager. Teams do not have mutual understanding and trust between employees, which means integrity and honesty with concern for the good of everyone. Therefore, I think that when choosing the leadership style, managers first need to find common goals: To achieve personal understanding;Ã Seek opportunities for regular joint problem-solving; To establish trust between employees and teams. (Adams and Shields, 1994) If to consider the current cases of Chery Kahn, Rob Carstons, and Linda McGee, who were promoted into management positions, I think they need to select a democratic style of governance, which is characterized by the distribution of authority, initiative and responsibility between the manager and deputy, the leader and subordinates. are the main characteristics of the style: manager always seeks the views of staff on important industrial issues, but takes decisions as a body; communication with subordinates is in the form of requests, suggestions, recommendations, advice, rewards for quality and operational work, friendly and polite, if necessary apply orders; the head tries to stimulate a favorable psychological climate in the team, defends the interests of subordinates. (Tittemore 2003) I think that this management style will help managers to improve relations in the team and become good leaders. 4. Promotion of employees to leadership position as well as a new outsider leader can be important news in the company, and always a change in the team. The staff and employees may not always well react on promotions of colleagues. In such a situation it becomes difficult to establish relationships between employees and the new leader. But if the new manager came from another company, it is even harder to become a leader, because he does not know the team, does not know the rules of the company and its climate. He needs to learn everything and adapt to new conditions, and choose a style of leadership. So I believe that promotion within the company is more successful. First of all, the new head already knows his subordinates, he knows the psychological climate of the company. In this situation, head should better choose a democratic style of management, and to remain on friendly terms with the team, but do not become an authoritarian leader, that may spoil relations with the colleges.

ââ¬ÂMore Than Just the Diseaseââ¬Â by Bernard McLaverty Essay
ââ¬ËMore Than Just the Diseaseââ¬â¢, written by Bernard McLaverty has one major character, Neil. The story is seen through his eyes and illustrates the problems that he has to deal with at this point in his life. Arguably the biggest problem Neil has in the story is his psoriasis, this is also a contributor to another of his problems, which is his huge lack of confidence, and it also contributes in a profound way to his insecurity. McLaverty has written the character of Neil Fry with many quite complex problems one of which is the astonishing influence Mrs Fry ââ¬â Neilââ¬â¢s mother ââ¬â has on him. He frequently hears her voice in his head commanding him, telling him how he should act, what he should do in certain situations and how to feel on certain matters. This occurs when Neil is having breakfast with Michaelââ¬â¢s family. His mother, without being present, tells him that he should, ââ¬Å"Close his mouth when he is eatingâ⬠she goes on to say, ââ¬Å"Others have to live with you Neil.â⬠He hears her again when he is unpacking after arriving at Michaelââ¬â¢s holiday home. She says ââ¬Å"Be tidy at all times and then no one can surprise youâ⬠. I could go on for pages listing more and more instances of this but I wonââ¬â¢t get any marks for doing that! I regress. Although Mrs Fry means absolutely no harm, in fact quite the opposite, when implanting these views, ideas and reactions into Neilââ¬â¢s head, she is actually contributing to many of Neilââ¬â¢s problems: such as his lack of confidence, his ignorance and his insecurity. Neil finds, when he goes to stay with Michael on the coast, that his mother is entirely wrong about the middle classes and how they live and behave. He finds contrary to his expectations that they do not fit the stereotype, they are not ââ¬Ëposhââ¬â¢ but in fact they are reasonably laid back. Neil is very insecure possibly, again, owing to his motherââ¬â¢s domination over him and because ââ¬Å"Neil kept hearing his motherââ¬â¢s voiceâ⬠A good example of this is him going to the bathroom to put on his pyjamas and buttoning the jacket right up to the neck, whereas Michael while ââ¬Å"bending his arms and flexing his bicepsâ⬠announces proudly; ââ¬Å"I only wear pyjama bottomsâ⬠. This, as well as illustrating Neilââ¬â¢s insecurity, also is a good illustration of Neilââ¬â¢s massive under confidence and Michaelââ¬â¢s abundance of it. Neil lives in a very sheltered world and does not know a lot about the world beyond his home and school life. This is evident in one instance in particular; when Neil is making an excuse for not going swimming to hide his psoriasis he says, ââ¬Å"The fact isâ⬠¦Iââ¬â¢ve got my period.â⬠Mrs Wan helps Neil with his lack of confidence. She is a duchess and owns the house in which Michael and his family stay throughout the summer. While doing this she lives in a dirty caravan at the bottom of the garden with her ââ¬Å"millionsâ⬠of cats. Mrs Wan proves another one of Mrs Fryââ¬â¢s stereotypes is utter nonsense, she does not dress as expected ââ¬â not at all glamorously ââ¬â but does not seem to be interested in her appearance in the slightest. McLaverty describes her as being, ââ¬Å"An old woman in a bottle green cardigan and baggy mouse coloured trousers andâ⬠¦a pair of menââ¬â¢s leather gloves.â⬠She is a complete contrast to Mrs Fry who likes to be ââ¬Å"tidy at all timesâ⬠and ââ¬Å"cannot abide milk bottles at the tableâ⬠. If, with no background information you were asked to choose the duchess between the two of them it is most likely that Mrs Fry would be the one chosen. Mrs Wan, although only meeting Neil briefly, has a large influence on him, which is rather more positive than that of his motherââ¬â¢s. She listens to his and seems interested in his opinionsââ¬â¢ and experiencesââ¬â¢. Most importantly, however, she gives him confidence, the confidence to reveal his psoriasis instead of making excuses to get out of going swimming. She shares her experience of lepers with him this also helps him and boosts his confidence in a big way. The end of the story illustrates very well how Mrs Wanââ¬â¢s advice affects Neil. The closing scene could be taken as a symbol for life. Neil because of his under confidence dabbles in the shallows nervously, meanwhile Michael is out in the deep riding the waves and happily accepting all the challenges thrown at him by the sea knowing he will succeed. The story teaches Neil a lot. He is taught to move out with his motherââ¬â¢s domination. Not to worry too much about how other people perceive him and that he should not be at all afraid of revealing his psoriasis, not keeping it hidden. He has nothing to be ashamed of and therefore he should not hide away or dabble in the shadows but be sure of himself, confident enough to do what he thinks best not what his mother ââ¬â often wrongly ââ¬â thinks he should do, to be his own person and not a clone of his mother.

Epics: Gilgamesh and Joseph
Archetypes in literature serve as basic models or ideal examples of the human thoughts, feelings, and reactions which underlie and determine a vast variety of human experiences (Kluger, 1991, p. 16). Both, the stories of Gilgamesh and Joseph, are pregnant with rich archetypal imagery. They allow us perspective on the universal human condition, while also providing personally applicable insight and exploration. Gilgamesh Through Gilgameshââ¬â¢s adventures, timeless themes of heroism, providence, love, friendship, and immortality are presented in a story of character growth. Gilgamesh possesses a potential for greatness that is realized through his friendship with Enkidu and his quests for renown and immortalityâ⬠(Chastain, 2004, pg. 286). His journey begins in Uruk, where he reigns as a selfish and tyrannical king but ultimately, his journey brings him home to Uruk as a wiser, nobler king. He is an archetype of flawed heroism ââ¬â undeniably courageous, but also undeniabl y imperfect. Using his famed fighting skills, he exploits the men of his own country and takes their brides at whim. The people of Uruk become so outraged at this indecency that they implore the gods for help. Anu and the goddess Arurur answer their pleas in the form of a man named Enkidu, who is equipped to rival the strength of Gilgamesh. Ironically, what the people and gods fashion for Gilgameshââ¬â¢s demise, becomes his salvation. The gods are, in fact, successful in checking the kingââ¬â¢s unbecoming behavior, but in an unexpected means. This is archetypal providence at work in the divine. Epics 3 Endiku doesnââ¬â¢t rise up and defeat the mighty warrior-king in one fatal swoop, instead he ends up befriending him. Their first meeting typifies their relationship: Gilgamesh intends to enter a brideââ¬â¢s chamber to defile her, Endiku stands at the doorway to refuse his entrance. They wrestle fiercely, equally matched. Endiku manages to derail the kingââ¬â¢s unseemly intentions and win his affection in the process. Through their relationship, love typifies itself as a powerful motivator for change. Both characters evolve and mature through their shared friendship. Endiku transitions from a wild man into a noble man, who enjoys royalty and battles bravely. Once, he socialized only with animals, but he soon developed into a devoted man willing to lay his life down for a fellow human being. Gilgamesh slows his lustful pursuit of women and realizes authentic love through friendship. His self-centeredness dissipates as he grieves heartily seven days and seven nights over the loss of his dear friend. The untimely demise of Enkidu causes him to face his own vulnerability. He remembers the horrors of the Underworld as relayed by his friend and suddenly experiences the archetypical fear of death, which leads him to the archetypical quest for immortality. His bereavement turns into a determined expedition for eternal life. After ordering the erection of a statue dedicated to his companion, his mission began. After several failed attempts, the storyââ¬â¢s hero is unable to beat death; it is inevitable and approaching. Ultimately, he must learn to content himself with the legacy heââ¬â¢ll leave rather than the escape of an afterlife. However, all is not lost. Although, he does not return to Uruk with everlasting life for himself and his people, he does return as a much improved despot. Each journey he undertook shaped and evolved his character. Epic 4 Joseph Josephââ¬â¢s story, according to the biblical Old Testament narrative, is powerfully inspiring. It is the record of one manââ¬â¢s ascension from pit to palace. He overcomes obstacles, injustice and hardship with grace and honor. Ultimately, every wrong is compensated with wildly unexpected success and wealth. Through it all, is the unmistakable mark of divine providence. There is a ââ¬Å"behind-the-scenes presence of One whose Hand guides every event, small or large, from beginning to endâ⬠(Westermann, 1996, pg. iii). This sense of orchestration and heavenly aid lends insight to a very personally involved Deity. Another striking element in Josephââ¬â¢s story is the relentless scope of his morality. He endures temptation after temptation with holy resolve. Although he suffers harm for the purity of his integrity, he remains loyal to decency nonetheless. Not only was Joseph moral, apparently, he w as likeable. He won the favor of many throughout his lifetime, beginning with his parents. He was the highly favored son of his father, Jacob, and this bias was not veiled from his brothers. Their jealousy escalated so remarkably that they sought to kill him. They threw him into a pit while callously eating their lunch and plotting his murder. However, through the intervention of an older brother, Reuben, they opted instead to sell him to traveling merchants. Through this cruel betrayal, Joseph landed in Egypt as slave to a wealthy official named Potiphar. He excelled in his environment and advanced quickly. ââ¬Å"Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, Epics 5 nd he entrusted to his care everything he ownedâ⬠(Genesis 39:4, New International Version). From the moment he was put in charge, God blessed Potipharââ¬â¢s household for Josephââ¬â¢s sake. In the midst of favor and excellence, injustice reentered the scene in the form of Potipharââ¬â¢s wife. Steadfast in his ethical obligation, Joseph refused the wifeââ¬â¢s sexual allurement. This infuriated the jilted seductress and caused her to la sh out vindictively. She wrongfully accused Joseph of the very act he refused to commit. Once again, his life changed immediately in the heat of anotherââ¬â¢s scorn. He was promptly imprisoned. ââ¬Å"But while Joseph was there in the prison, the LORD was with him; He showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison wardenâ⬠(Genesis 37:19-20). Whether in a pit or in a prison, Joseph remained tethered to the bigger element of destiny. Providence used every scenario to nurture his latent aptitude in preparation for his eventual position of elevated authority. As in the preceding circumstances, Joseph proved himself trustworthy and was given a position of leadership within the prison. He was faithful and successful in all under his care. God blessed his labor. Joseph didnââ¬â¢t remain in the kingââ¬â¢s dungeon long before divine purpose began drawing him out of injustice a second time. Trusting God, he interprets the dream of a prisoner under his care. He predicts that the man will soon be freed to return to the Kingââ¬â¢s palace as chief cupbearer. In return for such good news, Joseph asks that the cupbearer remember him and advocate his plight before the king. In gross negligence, the cupbearer forgets Joseph. It seems that he is the victim of inequality yet once again but two years later, Joseph is remembered. At the cupbearerââ¬â¢s insistence, Joseph is summoned to interpret the Kingââ¬â¢s dream. Giving God credit for any potential achievement, Joseph begins interpretation ââ¬â a feat which no other man in Pharaohââ¬â¢s court could manage. The king was so impressed by Josephââ¬â¢s answer and demeanor that he immediately bestowed the young thirty-year-old with royal authority: Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you. (Genesis 41:39-40) The cycle of discrimination, favor and blessing had repeated itself once again. The two constants in Josephââ¬â¢s many surprising adventures were the hand of God and tenacious morality. Even at the pinnacle of his success and power, Joseph chose goodness over vengeful reciprication. A dire famine in the region set the stage for a climatic final confrontation between Joseph and the brothers who betrayed him so long ago. They came to him in Egypt, unknowingly, pleading for rations. Josephââ¬â¢s position of command allowed him many possible reactions ââ¬âanger, retaliation, intimidation- but he chose forgiveness and generosity. He reveals himself to his brothers through heavy tears and warm embraces. Their fateful reunion was complete in perfect absolution. Josephââ¬â¢s journey from the pit to the palace, taught him dependence on God, the trustworthy, omniscient One. He remained dedicated to hope and faith and was not disappointed. In the end, he was able to see purpose in every trial and deific direction in every season. He was able to say: ââ¬Å"But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto goodâ⬠(Genesis 50:20, King James Version).

Should We Live Forever - 913 Words
The question of whether or not I would like to live forever is a question that delivers many, many answers, meaning my answer to the question really depends on the day or my mood that day. Most days, my answer to the whether I would like to live for ever question is ââ¬Å"no, I would not like toâ⬠Mainly because the whole idea of immortality sounds exhausting, boring and depressing, especially with such limitations, and downsides. This answer is provoked merely on the fact that I would become overly dependent on everything and everyone around me, and also due to the fact that although I have people around me constantly, however, I would still acquire a lonely feeling, due to the fact no one would be of my generation, therefore relating would be made difficult to attain. Living forever seems like a phenomena that some people may want, and would enjoy, once they figure out a loop hole, such as being able to determine what age you would forever relive, for an example, choosing to live life as a 20 year old for the rest of ones life. Living as a 20 year old forever does appear to have its perks if you really think about it because example one, you are young forever and example 2, you are in your prime, but from a psychological standpoint, at one point in life a person would realize Onye-ugo2 that maybe choosing to reincarnate, or live forever and ever as a 20 year old just may not be healthy to ones spirit, or especially their brain development. If you as a person are lingerShow MoreRelatedI Am I Die One Day905 Words à |à 4 Pagesknow what it meant to die. Later on, I began to understand that when people died, it meant they were gone forever. Light And Geometric Optics Of Light - 1565 Words
Light and Geometric Optics. That is the title for Unit D. Unit D deals with the electromagnetic spectrum, Ray models of light, Refraction, and a lot of other topics. Light is used in many different ways. Mirrors and televisions use light so you can see yourself and the show you are watching. The light bulbs we utilize use different sources of light for power. We have advance and have been able to find many uses for many different things that give us light. But first we must know how light works. Light is part of the Electromagnetic spectrum. The Electromagnetic spectrum is made up of a range of Electromagnetic radiation that extends from the shortest gamma ray to the longest radio waves. The rays are in this order: radioâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦There is a equation for calculating the speed of the wavelengths. The frequency is f and the wavelength is . Speed equals v. Therefore V = f x wavelength . An example of this would be the following question. The wavelength is 10 and the frequency is 2. So the speed of the waves would equal 20 cm / s. Wave models of light help us understand the similarities between light and the movement of water to explain properties of light we can t see. Refer to diagram 2.1 for example. For example of this we can look at a prism. When a white light shines through it, it splits into seven different colors. ROYGBIV: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and violet. This is called the visible spectrum. While the most important light source is the sun, light can also be produced by animals and plants. This ability is called Bioluminescence. Bioluminescence is very common among the creatures of the sea. Only 10% of sea animals are not Bioluminescence. The animals that are Bioluminescent use their ability to attract prey or to keep their schools together. They are able to dim their lights if they sense a predator approaching. There are many other sources of light such as the following six. Incandescent, Fluorescent, Phosphorescent , and Chemiluminescence, triboluminescence, Electric Discharge. Incandescent is a light that is made by a type of object . A incandescent light bulb has a thin piece of metal inside of the bulb, which is called a

Psychological And Psychological Aspects Of Stress Essay
From being more susceptible to illness and heart attacks to an increased risk of mental health issues, stress is a psychological phenomenon that many struggle to manage. Burton, Westen and Kowalski (2015) wrote that, ââ¬ËStress refers to a challenge to a personââ¬â¢s capacity to adapt to inner and outer demandsââ¬â¢. It is a psychological process that affects everyone and encompasses both physical and psychological elements and consequences (Burton et al., 2015). Stress is a transactional process between an individual and the environment wherein the individual perceives the situation to either tax or exceed their psychosocial resources (Lazarus, 1981, 1993, as cited in Burton et al., 2015). General adaption syndrome (Selye, 1936, 1976, as cited in Burton et al., 2015) states that stress is experienced in three stages; alarm, resistance and exhaustion. If the body remains within a state of alarm or resistance too long the bodyââ¬â¢s physiological defences break down in creasing vulnerability to illness. Likewise, stress may also increase the risk of health compromising behaviours or mental health issues (Smith, Hancock, Blake-Mortimer, Eckert, 2007). This study will compare the efficacy of two interventions; mindfulness and exercise. Mindfulness is ââ¬Ëpaying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgementally to the unfolding of experience moment by momentââ¬â¢ (Kabat-Zinn, 2003, as cited in Mackenzie, Poulin Seidman-Carlson, 2006). Lotteriaà à Market Positioning : Lotteriaââ¬â¢s market positioning is to make restaurant with clean environment, good and fast service, an high quality food. Strength Big Portion Chicken with a special seasoning Weakness Storeââ¬â¢s design not very attractive Not very good at branding and promotion Current BonChon Markets Objectives Entering the third year in Indonesia, BonChon wants to create new experience for their customers and develop the market range from A to B class to A to C. So BonChon want to make new menu set creation that can provide the C class at BonChon. With a budget of Rp. 50,000,000 in 3 months,we must market, advertise, and promote this new menu set creation. Plan BonChon need the new set creation menu that provide the C class customer. To make this new set menu, first we decided to devide C class to some segment by ages. After we targeting the 15-20 years oldââ¬â¢s segment as our target market which is the students and college students. So we posisioning our new product as the low cost set menu for students and college students. After we know our market,we need to know what the student and college student needs. So we used questioner method to find out what is students and college students needed. Data On Monday, November 11th 2013 we have given questioner to 100 volunteers. Our questioner contains 5 questions that has purpose of each question. These are our result of our questioner : 1. How many times do you go to Shopping Mall? First, as we know BonChon Chicken has 14 stores around Jakarta, Surabaya and Bali. All of the stores were established in Shopping Mall. Therefore, we have to know how many times people go to Shopping Mall in a month. If we know about the college studentââ¬â¢s frequency go to the shopping mall, we can predict how many potential loyal customer of our segmentation target (college student). After that, we can decide how important the location in the Shopping Mall. Based on he questioner, we know that most of college student go to the shopping mall at least once a week. Even, 69% of college student go to shopping mall at least twice a week. We guarantee, most of them will get the lunch or dinner in the shopping mall. Therefore, if BonChon Chicken can make equilibrium demand with the college student, they will be the loyal customer for BonChon Chicken. To take their loyalty, BonChon need strategic location. It can increase the awareness of brand BonChon Chicken to take lunch or dinner. And how about the location of BonChon Chicken right now? 2. How much the average price do you often spend for lunch / dinner while you go to the Shopping Mall? After we know about the college studentââ¬â¢s frequency go to the Shopping Mall, we have to know how much money they spend to get their meal. By this question, we can assume the normal price they want to spend for a meal and how much that we should put the price for our new product. Based on the chart, we can conclude that college student often spend IDR 35. 000 ââ¬â 50. 000 for their meal. Actually, the price supply which is given by BonChon Chicken match with the consumerââ¬â¢s willingness to pay. According to this assumption, if BonChon makes a product whose price about IDR 20,000 which is lower than average price, it will be a great deal and increase the profit. College student who is one of member of Class C will get more consumer surplus and they will prefer to choose BonChon rather than the other fast-food restaurant. We believe that since the first time BonChon was founded, BonChon create itself as one of premium fried chicken restaurant. Therefore, we donââ¬â¢t want to break the image even when BonChon want to make an innovation to reach the C class. We guess IDR 20,000 is the best price for BonChonââ¬â¢s menu to reach the C Class without break its image as the premium fried chicken restaurant. 3. What is your favourite menu at fastfood? As we know that a fast food restaurant is providing many kind of foods, like chicken, ice cream, burger, salad, french fries, etc. To make a new menu creation, we should know which menu is the most favorite one. From the result from our questioner, we knew that the most favorite product that customers want from a fast-food restaurant is chicken. So, we conclude that we need to make a new menu that consists of chicken. Another reason why we choose a new menu that consist of chicken is because we see that BonChon has specialty in chicken menu, so BonChonââ¬â¢s specialty is match up with the customersââ¬â¢ needs, and we believe that it will be a great opportunity for the new menu creation. 4. What is your priority scale when you choose to buy a meal in the fast food restaurant? Please give score from 1 ââ¬â 7 to each sector. ( 7 = very important ) This chart is telling about customer vaue that customer need and 3 restaurant compared with the customer value. We get the customer value from the 100 quistioneir and the point of 3 restaurant is from our teamââ¬â¢s opinion based on observation and desk research. We sure, to make a great innovation we have to understand the customer value also the competitive advantage of our company and competitor company. We choose McD and Lotteria as the competitor of BonChon Chicken because of some consideration. First, as we know Lotteria and BonChon Chicken have a major similarity which provide Korean fried chicken, so itââ¬â¢s very obvious that Lotteria is a competitor for BonChon Chicken. After that, we choose McD as the other competitor because McD is the most famous fast-food in Indonesia. Not only in Indonesia, McD is the most famous fast-food in the world. We believe by choosing McD as the competitor, BonChon Chicken can learn many things such as McDââ¬â¢s competitive advantages and also how they accomplish the customer value. Based on the result from 100 volunteers, we know the fact about the customer priority scale. Most of the customers consider 3 things to choose their meal, that are Price, Taste, and Hygiene. They need meal with low price, taste good and hygiene appearance. Indonesian customer doesnââ¬â¢t give big attention to healthy factor when they want to get meal in a fast-food restaurant. Talk about BonChon, we think BonChon has good taste, very hygiene appearance but canââ¬â¢t provide cheap price. In the other hand, McD just has standard taste, standard hygiene factor, but it can provide cheap price. These factor make BonChon canââ¬â¢t beat McD as the fast-food restaurant. If we want compare BonChon Chicken with Lotteria, the taste of Lotteria is not good as BonChon. But Lotteria can provide lower price than BonChon with the portion more than BonChon Chicken. We could say that BonChon Chicken and Lotteria lie in the same position. If we want to make a new menu for C Class, we have to press the variable-cost but still provide the customer value. Therefore we have arranged the new menu that focused in 3 most important customer value, that is price, taste, and hygiene. We will reduce the healthy factor in BonChon Chicken because it isnââ¬â¢t considered as the important factor. 5. What is the most effective social media that give you many information about Food Beverage After we understand about the customer value and try to create new menu based on the customer value and characteristic of BonChon Chicken, we have to know the way to promote our new product. We can do promotion with conventional ways or with social media effect. The conventional promotion can be done by using banner and backdrop. Besides that, we will also promote this product by social media promotion because of the effectiveness of social media in Indonesia. As we know, social media is one of the easiest way to affect Indonesian. There are many kind of social media in Indonesia, such as Twitter, Instagram, Path, Facebook, etc. Because we want to promote the product not only with conventional ways, we must know about what is the most famous social media for college student. Based on the result of our questioner, we knew that Instagram take the first place, Path as the second, and Twitter at the third place as the most effective social media to share the newest info about food and beverage. First, we want to use Instagram and Path as the social media promotion. But later we realize that Instagram and Path just compatible with iOS and Android system, so we rearrange the plan and we choose Instagram and Twitter as the social media to promote the new menu. By choosing Instagram and Twitter,we can expand the promotion, because is not only for iOS and Android users. The social media promotion will be done by photo competition which is explained in other part (4P). Questionerââ¬â¢s Conclution From our questioner, we got some conclusions : Student and college student have a high frequency to eat at mall They usually spend Rp35. 000-Rp50. 000 at the mall for their food The favourite product at fast food restaurant is chicken Student and college studentââ¬â¢s priorities for fast food are the price, taste, and higiency The top social media for promoting the fast food are instagram, path, and twitter. From that data we know that, the new menu that the student and college studentââ¬â¢s needs is: The price is under Rp35. 000-Rp50. 000 The taste is good The productââ¬â¢s higiency must be good The information about the new product promoted from instagram, path, and twitter Product ââ¬Å"BonChon Chicken Wrap Set Menuâ⬠Bonchon Chiken Wrap Set Menu consist of BonChon Chicken Wrap and soft drink. BonChon Chicken wrap is a rice with some slice of chicken flesh and chicken skin mixed up with BonChonââ¬â¢s special sausage and wrapped with the creepe. When we bite this BonChon Chicken Wrap ,we will get the juicy, crunchy, and delicious in a bite. We set this menu because of the result of our questioner. This menu consist of 3 most important factor for C Class that are cheap, good taste, and hygiene. We can guarantee that the variable cost of our new menu is lower than the value meal menu of BonChon Chicken. Therefore we believe if BonChon Chicken sell our product, BonChon will get more revenue than before. We donââ¬â¢t talk too much about the hygiene of the process to make Chicken Warp because we sure that BonChon Chicken has good standard about hygiene Price We could say, even with only Rp20. 000 customer can get this BonChon Chicken Wrap with soft drink. We have calculated the variable cost and the profit will be get by the seller. The variable cost of Chicken Warp is : Creepe:Rp 1,500,00 Chicken Skin + Chicken Flesh (100g):Rp 4,000,00 Rice:Rp 2,000,00 Additional Seasoning:Rp 2,000,00 Rp 9,500,00 It prove that the variable cost of our new menu is lower than the other but still has great taste.
